Two New Ground Wells

In 2010, The Episcopal School, a high school located in Jacksonville, Florida, raised the funds required to dig two ground wells. Finally, Dr. Benitez’ promise of a well in 2004 became a reality. And the process used to dig the well was fascinating. Excavated by hand using only a can to dig, the pipe that delivers the water to the surface was constructed by manually lowering each piece, one-by-one deep into the hole – without the benefit of a light! The whole village, along with the Bishop of the Diocese, came to the opening celebration of the wells.
