A New Convent
In 2014, Bright Eyes Uganda completed a convent project that can house up to eight religious sisters. The walled compound also includes an outdoor kitchen for cooking meals and a visitor’s house designed to accommodate four volunteers or a visiting doctor. The first three nuns to reside in the convent included a teacher, a social worker and the superior, all of whom were very welcome additions to the village of Kayenje.
